Aussie Outback Ammo groups in different temperatures

Post by Farmjer » 08 Apr 2014, 11:33 am

I thought this was worth sharing as I hadn't seen any compelling tests before about Aussie Outback Ammos claims to shooting the same in different temperatures.

Didn't really know what to expect from this ammo but you can't argue with this. Took a screen shot out of the latest ADI book.

Hot is 53c, standard is 'ambient' temperature; they don't actually say what that is but I guess 25-30c or something, and cold is -15c

21" difference in drop at 600m from Highland SX ammo over that temperature range.

Only 5" difference from the Aussie Outback Ammo.

Can't argue with that.

Took me a second to click that those are 600m groups.

Just looked like ordinary 100m groups at a glance. Couldn't work out what the fuss was about

Gets hot as hell up north here.

I'll have to give it a try.

Ah here you go... A heavy barrel Sako 75 factory rifle with a 3.5-10x Leupold scope.

Similar results for .223 as well.

Good ammo all round from the looks of it.

It's from an ADI publication if we're talking about the same testing.

They put the ammo in a freezer and oven respectively for a few hours each until the temperature was even/stable then did the testing.
