A bit of the Old and some of the New

G'Day Fella's,

In the last two weeks, I got myself an Old rifle and a New pair of Bino's
The rifle, is an old BSA (Beesa) Hunter in .222Rem.
The bino's are Leica 10 x 42 HD-B with a laser range finder.
As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words so...........

The Old Beesa is a hark back to the sporting rifles of the 1950/1960's.
The Leica's are obviously a product of the 21st century.

Enjoy!

G'Day Fella's,

Thank You for your kind comments Game Rancher!
Yes, the rifle cost me about 10% of the bino's!

Whilst the bore is still bright, it has quite a bit of rust pitting.
Actually, the state of inside of the Barrel, is very similar to the outside of the Barreled Action!
Also, some previous owner, thought he was a Gunsmith at some time and attempted to Bed the Action and Float the Barrel.
As can be seen by the remnants of the "Plasti-Bond on the sides of the action, they knew NOTHING of what it was they were attempting to achieve!!!
Whilst they Butchered the inletting of the barrel channel, luckily the action inletting, is still original and intact (once the excess Plasti-Bond was removed)!

Avagreatweekendeh!

I forgot to mention, the tip of the Firing Pin is broken (but was retained in the bolt) and the same Butcher probably broke, and then lost the lever of the Safety.
FYI, see image.

Here is my first stupid question, ever (that I'm admitting to  )
What does that plastic tubing have to do with it :unknown:

G'Day Fella's,

Wm Traynor, No such thing as a Dumb Question (just Dumb Mistakes) mate!
With the rifle completely dismantled, when I put the Barreled Action/Stock back in the safe, I tie these two parts together with the rubber tubing!

Hope that answers your question?

Doh!
