License number meaning on Cat A/B, H

Hi all, earlier this week I finally got my payment notice for probationary license for handgun after waiting 7 weeks.

However the LRD mistakenly named my street address wrong, they made it 'Court' instead of 'Street', hence I've sent the paperwork back to LRD.

I also realised later that my new probationary license number on paperwork is same as my cat A&B card except it ends in letter V. On my cat A&B card it ends in letter B. I got curious as if they made a typo since B and V sits next to each other on the keyboard.

If you have both cat A&B plus cat H, does your licenses have different letter at the end? Or is it supposed to be completely different number than cat A&B?

I don't know about a probationary licence but my pistol licence ended in a H

The first 6 digits of the number can be the same, I have 3 licences with the same number, The next 2 digits will vary and letter at the end denotes the licence type, V is correct for your Probationary.
