Re: No access to shooting sites.

The antis dont even understand the firearms about which they preach, Sam Lee was pontificating the other day and stated that military style semiautos are more dangerous than civilian style because they are capable of being fired at a faster rate. This is the ignorance cloaked in righteous indignatio...

Re: No access to shooting sites.

That's piss poor, but unfortunately, no longer surprising.

It would be interesting to know if the owners, board or whomever makes such decisions did it on their own initiative or whether some commercial pressures were applied.

Re: Announcement: New (and improved) moderation system now l

Media and politics can, by nature, be divisive but removing it is akin to banning semiautomatics for everyone because a few misused them. I have been guilty of getting carried away at times, nothing I'm proud of, but hey, I'm human, I have my foibles like everyone else. Perhaps if topics causing acr...

Re: And just like that all my guns were seized by police

In the context of horrible mass shootings...I think the USA leads the way to a point beyond sanity. I sleep better knowing that my kids are 99.9999% safe at school - that might be a little lower if I lived in the USA... The US has a problem with morality, not guns. Take away all their guns and they...

Re: 22LR vs 17MHR

I have never really agreed with the cost of ammo being the top deciding factor in purchasing a firearm. Maybe it’s because I don’t do as much shooting as some of you guys and that’s fair enough and I understand if shooting is your job but i find it strange that recreational shooters will make their...

Re: And just like that all my guns were seized by police

No foil hat needed to have a healthy mistrust of political knee-jerkers JSS. That's exactly how they look at things. I heard an interview last night with an NZ anti-gun panic merchant calling for a total ban on all guns from civilian hands. His claim that the only thing guns are good for is killing ...

Re: And just like that all my guns were seized by police

Well NSW just going to pass laws for a 2 year trial, where if you have a drug conviction in the last 10 years cops do not need a warrant to search your house I find it pretty hard to believe that one will get passed, not even for the trail period. It sounds like a bit of "tough on crime" ...

Re: Remington Accelerator

I could be thinking of something else, it's late and there has been a large amount of ethanol ingestion, but I seem to recall a sabot 12g round that got the attention of Nanny and was banned as a submunition. Mind you, at this stage of chemical enhancement I might just be imagining typing this. I'll...

Re: Has PAYPAL gone anti gun??

I bought a trigger kit from gunbloke a couple of months ago, through paypal, so it sounds like a new policy. If they're going to join the persecution, I'll be looking for another option. I bought a muzzle brake off Gunbloke just last week, paid with Paypal. There you go, sounding more like a new po...

Re: Has PAYPAL gone anti gun??

I just had a look at my paypal transaction and the payment was listed as going to gunbloke.
If they were that sensitive, and this was an old policy, one would imagine that the name gunbloke would be a giveaway.
Sounds like something new to me.

Re: Has PAYPAL gone anti gun??

The other day i bought some stuff online from an Aussie manufacturer of gun bits, they had a paypal payment option which i always use if available for a place i've never dealt with before. Anyway their paypal option wouldn't work which i thought was odd so i shot them a quick email asking if it was...

Toolangi fire trails spiked

There should be a bounty for the scalp of anyone stupid enough to do this. In the latest round of what can only be called borderline militant stupidity, steel spikes have been found after destroying a four-wheel driver’s tyres, in the Toolangi State Forest in Victoria. We’ve been told that unfortuna...

Re: Howa varmint real life use

H'day Cal, I have the 24" fluted varmint, and yes it's a heavy bugger. Although having said that, it's in a billet chassis with nearly a kilo of scope and a bipod on it bringing it to 6.5kg all up. With the original stock and a smaller scope it would be less of a lump. It doesn't matter for me ...

Re: Is Qld about to Classify gelbasters as firearms?

This was a great meeting, very positive and discussions remained respectable between stores and QPS. Glad it reamained respectable, I hate meetings where people start stripping off :sarcasm: But seriously, good to see QPS aren't following the lunacy in NSW, as below: http://www.sportingshooter.com....

Re: recommend me a .177 air rifle

No spring, an inert gas is compressed in the cylinder and acts as the spring. Supposed to be more consistent, but springers work just fine. Also not as much 'twang' Yeah, springer for me too. The first spring on my old Meteor lasted me nearly 40yrs, can't complain there. No pumps no bottles or othe...
