A firearm or many firearm parts???

Post by junjun » 29 Sep 2018, 9:42 pm

I was stippling my pistol grip the other night, it's a 2011 pistol, to get the grip off I pretty much need to completely disassemble the whole gun except the slide, leaving the firing pin in it, the rest were fall to pieces. That made me think, if I had to go out in a short notice, or go take a shower, leaving all the parts lying on the bench, would I breach any law?

Yes, failing to secure your firearm. The frame, only, constitutes the firearm here in Vic, lock that away and all is good regarding every other part including barrel, firing pin etc. Cheers.

I stripped my Arisaka yesterday for rebarrelling.
All the parts go into a plastic tub so I don't lose anything, the wood goes on a shelf with all my other stocks, but the barreled action goes in the safe when I'm not actually working on it.
