Rossi Circuit Judge 22lr VIC Category?

Post by WheatBix » 05 Dec 2018, 4:54 pm

I have a friend that has a similar firearm (don't know the make or model) and he said his is a Cat B here in VIC. I'm looking at maybe importing one of these since every time I find a 'for sale' sign on one online, it's sold withing minutes. Does anyone know what category it is?

Cheers and safe shooting.

I would've though in .22LR it would be CatA.
Have you priced up importing a firearm?
Add about $2000 to the purchase price.

I have had a look into this myself and found shops around Victoria do stock the Alfa Proj carbines but i don't like these as then don't have a blast shield unlike the Rossi's. The rim-fire and shotgun versions are A cat but center-fire versions are B cat, there are also shotgun/ center-fire versions, these are also B cat. The carbine needs to have a barrel length of 16.5 in order for it to be legal in Victoria. Your best bet is to wait for a Rossi online within Australia and ship it your local dealer or to have a look around Victorian shops websites for the Alfa Proj. Hopefully this helps.
