What states have complied with the latest NFA update?

Questions about Federal gun laws covering all of Australia. Importing / exporting firearms and ammunition. Dealing with Australian Border Force, Customs etc.

What states have complied with the latest NFA update?

By this I mean moving lever shotguns under 5 rounds to Cat B and lever shotguns over 5 rounds to Cat D.

I know SA has not. What have the other states and territories done?

State firearm acts control laws, not NFA. They are not bound to comply. It’s a recommended agreement.

Talk about being completely irrelevant to what I was asking.

It’s the core of your statement. States are not bound by the NFA.
It’s like asking if you’ve complied with a UN resolution.

Just because someone is not bound to something does not mean they can't be in compliance with it.

Maybe just me but if I am after a new firearm I go to a shop and buy one.All this ordering and online stuff seems to cause problems.to stay on topic if its in the shop one would assume its legal to purchase and use.I was surprised to see chassis and pistol grips in W.A. stores as they were always taboo when I was a boy.Bloke had the full tacticool set up at the range the other day everyone was swooning over it.Its still a bolt action .308 but it looked like it was made of lego.Maybe one day I may desire something like that.Moral of the story go to your LGS if they sell 10 shot levers buy one

I was interested in this shotgun capacity topic and it has been discussed before the point I am suggesting is that if it is available for purchase in your LGS its possibly legal to possess.I had an XLT Winchester semi auto shotgun that held 2 up the tube and one in the chamber that I could slide more shells into out of my belt underneath on the move so it was never out.I was corrected when I asked why someone would need so many shots and a poster informed me that he gets in thick country and pigs go flying everywhere and he needs quick followup shots.I am not sure how long a 10 shot magazine would be and if it is a tube it would be getting out there past the barrel.its a discussion I might learn something

The ridiculous part is what I've quoted above. Just because a lgs has a ten shot lever shottie in stock doesn't mean ya can "just go and buy it". There are many more hoops to jump thru the least of which is obtaining the correct license.
But ya continue to spout this bullsh@t nonsense that "if you want it you can have it" and continue to show a complete lack of understanding of firearms ownership in your state...as I've said before very surprising for someone that claims to have your vast experience.   :drinks:

Maybe what he should have said is.... if the lgs has it and you want it.... you very likely can't get it

Lever action shotguns with greater than 5 shot magazine capacity have just moved from cat A to cat D

The pointy end of the wedge just got driven in a heap deeper.

Well done to our no.1 lobby group for standing up against further restrictions that do nothing to improve public safety

Perhaps when single shot, bolt action, centrefire rifles are under the spotlight they'll start to make some noise and jump up and down about it :unknown:
