Licence necessary for magazine purchase ?

Post by Blr243 » 06 May 2019, 5:57 pm

I'm in bris and flat out with work this week trying to get everything built before I spend a week hunting out west My new rifle magazine is paid for but it's prob nearly 3 hrs return trip to get it Can I send a bored mate up to grab it for me or if it's considered a gun part do I personally have to drive there flash my weapons licence to collect it ? It's a public holiday today and Obviously I can call my LGS in the morning to get this info but I wouldn't mind knowing now if anyone here is up to date with the rules

I don't need a licence to possess or buy a mag down herein VIC, but when I've bought them from QLD they're required my licence before they ship. Whether that only applies if they're sending interstate I can't say.
Why would you even consider a 3hr trip for you or a mate, use the post office.

Pretty sure federally (customs) stuff like magazines are gun parts and need a B709. But in the state level they are just plastic boxes with springs. Exceptions of course... 30rnd mags etc need permits.

I'm trying to leave for the hunt some time Friday Yes I'm aware of the postage option. I just don't know how quick the postage meathods are
