M200 Intervention

Post by PaWNTANK » 06 Feb 2015, 6:17 pm

Hi Guys,

Has anyone here tried to get an M200 Intervention imported?
I know the stock it normally comes in is a problem as it has a folding stock (wouldn't want crims hiding one under their jacket or doing drive-bys with it of course) :sarcasm:

But it also comes in a McMillan stock as an option from the factory. Would this also be a problem in some way?
I'm not looking at getting one any time soon given the hefty price tag but I would still be interested to find out.

You can get the non-folding stock version from the importer in S.A but the fully sik Tacticool version with folding stock is unfortunately prohibited :( I lost interest due to lack of picatinny and geek appeal. If you do decide to get one in .375 Cheytac then drop me a P.M and I'll save you a heap of time sourcing reloading components. The stupid part about the legislation is it's banned due to the folding stock yet the McMillan TAC-50 is perfectly legal with its removable butt stock. Makes an awesome 29" barrel pistol :)

Good luck with it mate.

Seems like the king of thing that'll be hard to find someone else having imported for first hand info.

That be the non-folding stock version, identical action just in a different stock. .375 Cheytac is difficult to load for but the .408 whilst a good calibre isn't as accurate as its smaller brother. That and very limited options with projectiles and brass make this calibre one for the cashed up enthusiast. I can buy the .408 Cheytac conversion for my HTI but decided against it due to the lack of options with reloading components.

The sad thing is a lot of pollies probably think you actually can hide a rifle in your pants and are acting accordingly.

Maybe I should mail a few photos with the Tikka down one trouser leg and see if they can spot it

"act accordingly"

When is the situation where the way to act accordingly is to be a moron?

Interesting choice, never heard of anyone shooting one here.

What put you onto this over the usual favourites the the DTA or Barrett?

Purely because I had never come across one, Just curious is all. I could obtain a small collection of firearms for the cost of one Intervention so its really just a pipe dream. I am looking at the Barrett 98 a bit more seriously as it is a lot cheaper.

That's the problem with them

There are a few I'd love, just one of them, but can't possibly justify buying :|

Hey guys on the subject of folding stocks, would an AIAX .338LM (with folding stock) be importable to Aus? As nicest as it would be to have that “intervention” tactical, practical and ease of use design with comfort and a cheaper price tag in the smaller cal range, what is the best option? Maybe rem 700 with aftermarket chassis?

Are folding stocks legal in NT?
They're legal here in Vic so you could import it through a dealer here and have them fix the stock, then send it up to you - check with Firearms in NT.
