Mmmm, I wonder if a calculation could be conducted to work out how many people die per 100,000 firearms in a particular region. Then the same thing calculated how many drownings per 100,000 boats or perhaps fishing licences issued. Road deaths per 100,000 cars? Might be surprising.

Although the story is old, the stats are old, and it says absolutely nothing at at other than there are registered guns, and people have reasons to own them....

anyone living in the light pink areas should be ashamed, as you're letting everyone else down by not owning enough guns.. SO GO BUY MORE GUNS!!! and make you light pink DARK pink!! geesus, they could have at least used a more masculine colour, shades of blue...

Lol, the Murray River should be banned! There's usually 2 - 4 skiers per year killed and who knows how many more drowning and critically injured somewhere along it although that would be regarded as acceptable becuase they died "doing what they loved"
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

The light pink areas have very small populations, remote areas.,,,, does not equate to gun ownership. I'm in the middle of one and just about everyone own a firearm around here.

The (inverse) relationship of crime rate and gun ownership is one thats not discussed by the presstitues.....high (lawful) firearm - low crime, etc :silent:

only articles like the above meant to surprise people with thousands of firearms 'out there in the community'. But those firearms are not the one the peeps should be concerned bout; its the one that the registry doesnt know about, officially anyway. I reckon there could be one unregistered for every registered gun, its the ones held by the crims we should all be concerned about....

An interesting map would a State by State annual increase in new licence applications. Some figures released at a meeting on Monday between The Queensland Shooting Associations and WLB;
45% increase in new applications,
55% increase in PTA applications.
This for QLD only.

In Victoria at least, the stats include the number of licences per street, for any given town or city. When my son-in-law gained his handgun licence, (I introduced him to the sport as a condition for giving him permission to marry my daughter :lol: ) the local DFO advised that it brought the total number of armed houses in that street to 21 - out of 25! A quiet, polite, law-abiding street it is, too...
The other four are a worry! :sarcasm:

Anyone got a current figure of the total guns registered in Victoria? Or other states for that matter.
