R license compliant hat?

Post by sooey » 27 Oct 2013, 1:28 am

I'm looking in an old issue of the Australian Shooters mag and there is an SSAA hat which says NSW 'R' license compliant.

A license compliant hat? Really?!

I'm all for safety gear and high vis clothing and all that but they seriously regulate your clothing to have a hunting license in NSW?

Fair enough if they say you must wear some safety gear I guess.

A "compliant" had is getting out there though...

It's not quite as rough as that makes out. Copy and paste from another web here

All hunters must wear an article of blaze orange clothing while hunting

So a hat or jacket or whatever in 'blaze' orange and you're good.

Yeah, they don't worry about clothing.

These days they just skip straight to suspending hunting across the state instead

All the R licence course says is one piece of blaze. But they insist on a hat or vest or jacket on the top half of you body. Blaze socks won't be accepted.
