Do you think we'll get semi autos back?

Questions about Victorian gun and ammunition laws. Victorian Firearms Act 1996.

Do you think we'll get semi autos back?

Post by chookah » 11 Nov 2013, 9:44 am

Wondering what people think the future for semi-auto rifles will be for us regular shooters.

Shooting has taken a few blows in the past and had its ups and down, but there have been a few positive steps lately is seems.

The greens getting a flogging in the election.

Opening hunting in NSW national parks.

Only baby steps here, but still steps...

I'm sure others are more in tune with the political shooting landscape than I am. What do people think?

I can see the requirements/restrictions lightening on them in the future.

Don't know about returning them to the same licensing process/reasons as a cat A/B rifle though...

Nope.

They'll never let Port Arthur go.

They're talking about giving QLD cops select-fire assaults rifles for home protection.

Who knows?

I can only see it getting harder to keep what we have got now. Without a strong shooting lobby we have little hope, thats why I cant understand why everyone dosnt join the SSAA .... what is with you people !!! Just join up already.
