Victorian junior license and hunting in state forest

Post by RealNick » 27 Feb 2017, 4:01 pm

I don't seem to be able to find this on the Victoria Police website.

There is info about getting a junior license and talks about ranges and clubs, but not hunting that I can find.

Can a junior hunt in the state forest with the supervision of a licensed adult or is a junior license just for their fun and they can only shoot at the range anyway?

I believe they can hunt as long as supervised by an adult licence holder.

It's definitely online somewhere, I'll find it in few hours if nobody else posts something before then.

Never mind, here you go - Google is your friend.

As per anything else that doesn't require a permit, it's the same as normal licence, but must be supervised.

A Licenced Junior can hunt as long as they follow the rules of the Junior Firearms Licence regarding supervised possession and such.

"Victoria Police recommends that licence holders supervising juniors should be within 1 metre of the junior and paying close attention to them in all instances where they possession and/or use of a firearm."
