WAPOL licencing

Post by mar6874 » 24 May 2017, 1:37 pm

Hi all,

I'm applying for my fisrt licence or just about to. I have a deposit on a 223 and a 22. I'm waiting for a property letter to come back to me from a friend who says his family on 1100 acres. Now my question is this, I understand that the property guideline for a 223 is 1000 acres but as this is a guideline are WAPOL a bt particular on this or should I be ok?
Worst case scenario I know I'll be covered for the 22 and have to buy a property letter for the larger calibre but as its my first licence I'm trying to keep the costs down as much as I can.

Thanks in advance.

1000 acres is what they like, so 1100 acres you will be fine.
I know a guy that got a .223 on 150 acres, it got rejected at first but he fought is as he was surrounded by state Forrest and closest neighbour was 3 km away. He ended up getting it through.

Bentaz,Normally love your posts and not sure why you have a hard on for W.A. gun laws.I was reloading at my mates workshop today and enjoyed talking to him about how I can get a 416 Rigby for a safari in Africa and all I have to do is apply and say my reason is a safari and I get to keep it for life.I would only buy 20 rounds as I let 3 go once before in the N.T.and doubt I would use 20 in my life time so not sure what your issue is.To respond to the original question 1100 is way enough for a .223.Do them at the same time its classed as one application

I wished that you all didn't have to put up with such Bolshevik.
I've been asked: "How many guns do you need to have?" My answer remains the same: "One more."

And you need 30 shotguns ?[/quote]

I have to agree with this sentiment. :sarcasm:

Rifles and pistols on the other hand...
