Totally credible and confirmed today by Andrew at Magnum Sports whos been asked to put a hold on sales, also confirmed by Justin at Horsley Park. NIOA are on the case as they're the importer and don't mind a fight with bureaucracy so it'll be interesting to see what happens. Allegedly it got started when a customer bought one and had it shipped to he local gun shop to do the registration. The gun shop wasn't sure if it was cat b, c or d or prohibited and instead of doing a little research or contacting the importer they called the registry for a categorisation. Registry somehow classified it as prohibited based on appearance resembling a military firearm. Unhappy customer is WTF??? Registry informed that these are being openly advertised and available over the counter in NSW. Registry unloads several nuggets into their manties and calls dealers asking for a halt on sales till further investigations are made. If they manage to ban the DTA then it'll open the path to banning many others based purely on appearance. NIOA, SSAA and numerous dealers are already on the case to shut down this type of stupidity by the registry.
Might restock my DTA's in timber with a conventional stock...

I strongly agree.
That's why the appearance rule is stupid.

By the way, it is entirely the fault of police as the commissioner gets final say on rulings in situations like this.
