Pistol barrel length incorrect

Post by Kelsey Cooter » 03 Dec 2017, 3:12 pm

My missus is going to apply for a pta to acquire my ruger single six, so today we got the club approval letter done by our club rep. The pistol has a 140mm barrel so thats what we put in the approval letter. But then when we got home i looked at my license papers and it is listed as a 125mm barrel. Will this cause problems when we transfer it into her name? Or is it easily corrected when the broker changes it into her name?

I picked up my revolver from the dealer yesterday (also my gun club) and the barrel length on that was also wrong. The dealer simply changed it and will send it off to the licensing folks with the correct details. Based on this you don't have a problem.

Paperwork mistakes happen mate.

Have the dealer update the records with your registry like holden said and it's all sweet.

There are two models correct? it's possible the wrong model was listed on the paperwork or even on the box.

Did you measure the barrel including the cylinder?

I've had wrong serials on permits before.

Email to the registry here and it was solved no fuss.

Same here with wrong details.

Calling them to update is fine.

It's not a crime if someone has mucked up your paperwork ;)
