Selling firearms on net in Victoria

Post by Oldbloke » 19 Feb 2018, 11:09 am

It is about to be made legal in Vic. About time.

"Advertising of legally owned firearms for sale is now allowed on the internet thanks to an amendment to the Firearms Act 1996 pushed through by the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party."

I wonder how much it will affect the established gun sales sites like ozgun and usedguns. Still need a place to advertise and I don't see Facebook getting on board.

They've been doing it forever anyway?

So nothing will change I guess.

It was clearly a stupid and pointless restriction.

It was one factor (among others) against us keeping the classifieds section too, so it's a step closer to bringing that back which I know will please a few people.

I doubt you'll ever see Facebook, ebay, Gumtree or Google remove the anti firearm and ammunition clauses from their T&Cs.

Niche platforms will continue to be the only way I suspect.

Yeah, I understand. I want to buy Juststartings shirty little 45-70 . I made a fantastic offer of $99.00 but strangely he said no. Got me buggered. :violin:

Very annoying, we don't have a "bait" emoji.

I would like Juststartings 22 revolving rifle with the red dot sight. Thats a fast shooting chase the miss hits (strafe) to final touchdown on the target rifle.
