Bonus 28 day wait?

Gday,

I already own a number of firearms, recently myself and my little brother put in a PTA, at the same gun store at the same time for a Cat A firearm.

My brothers was approved in around 35 minutes.

I'm about 23 days in ( I have called twice they have confirmed receipt of the PTA). Anyone else heard of being randomly made to wait 28 days?

Does something about the number of firearms purchased in a given amount of time trigger another 28 day wait?

Apparently they are really slow currently. NFI why. I need to get a registration certificate, so just rang them and seems like phone calls are not being answered either.

They don't answer calls on Wednesday to 'focus on applications'.
This is only my fourth firearm...I'd accept the 'really busy' deal if my brother didn't get an instant permit.
Its odd.

No, sorry, I take it back. Rang the shop yesterday arvo to get the PTA in, just received an SMS - PTA in now. I'm just a spoiled Mexican.

Still won't answer phone though... Bah.
