Formally, the BENELLI 828U Steel BE.S.T Black AI 30″ CC as advertised by Beretta today by email.

What do you guys think? AU$4999 seems bloody steep! But, grade 3 walnut and all the treatments you could want, right? What a gun.

For a shotty, that's one heck of a price tag. Something to be admired, maybe but who would take it out and use it? I know, the skies the limit for these things and 5k may not seem like a lot to some people but from my perspective, down here on earth? That's a t3x ctr, mdt ess full build if bought well and even some spare change to go to a scope.

The link, if interested: https://berettaaustralia.com.au/828u-st ... -ai-30-cc/

Any thoughts? I would genuinely like to hear what you legends have to say.

Not a silly purchase if you have the coin, and will use it I spose.
How enjoyable would that be? Awesome.
When they bury you, the family will fight over your scrooged-up bank balance, you might as well enjoy yourself.

I was surprised, full-time farmers who would otherwise think a shotgun is pretty limiting in their feral controls and never use one, have something special that they bring out and enjoy once a year. In our community one of our gatherings is a yearly shotgun shoot on a members farm, and it's common to see $5K+ Beretta's and Miroku's come out and see the sun in their beautiful walnut.

I nearly bought one a couple of years ago.
Pretty light for a shotgun if I remember correctly, but very very nice all the same.
They were much cheaper though, maybe closer to 3k??
But everything has gone up, and perhaps this is an upgraded model maybe.?
Magnum sports has one for 3.5k, possibly not the model you’re looking at.

Out of my price range. My base model Miroku has served me well so I will stick with that, but I still like "window shopping"
The Benelli appears to be a nice bit of kit, though.

No doubt it's a stunning piece of kit, but at 5k, it's definitely in the "admire from afar" category for most.

Because that was before the sporter was released. Every one that sells them is because recoil is too much shooting clays. That's not what a field gun is for. They are built light to carry. I didn't mind them but expensive.

They have some sort of a weird floating kind of a breach too.

And they have a loose rib as well. Not sure why.
