Adler for duck shooting

I said it before and I will say it again, I have like zero use for an Adler. So I put a deposit down for one (28") because, f*** you, that's why, my personal little statement that probably means s**t to anyone anyway.

So now to find a use for it. Looked into duck hunting, seems doable.

Any feedback on it, as a duck shooting gun? I have like zero expectations, so any feedback is much appreciated.

Question was more around usability for duck shooting.

Sounds like a good option. tbh you may only ocassionally need the 3rd or 4th shot but good to have. The down side is 1 barrel means 1 choke to select from unlike a double. Im sure u can live with that.
I had a nice pump untill a Howard thought I could not be trusted with it. On a personal note I found it rather offensive.

Go for it the more shots you have with out reloading in the swamp the better . I mean without opening your shotgun .
Will be good for dam busting aswell . When it comes down to having just one choke you con always use different shot sizes in your mag start with smaller shot when ducks are close the larger shot further back in your mag when they are flying away

I'm currently bush and have been shooting the Adler quite a bit, using a mix of Bronze Wing No.8 shot and OOSG for the bigger game. Very impressive gun for the price, action gets smoother with use and glad I bought it. The only thing I didn't like was the brass knob of a front sight which was fixed with a $20 screw in replacement with high viz fibre. I have the 28" barrel version and it points and shoots very well. Main reason for purchase was to stick it to the anti's so to be fair I should thank them and I'll definitely buy whatever they jump up and down about next:)

you would find that pumps are what get used here a lot with the adler looking like it would handle a lot like a pump you should be good

Can't see how the lever action could possibly compete, with a double barrel.

A couple of fellas shoot competition clays around these parts, with pump guns ...

But, they are always 'coming from behind', with the necessity to 'WORK the action'.

It's just simple physics, not a comment about particular guns.

In my opinion, lever guns would be way more suited to hunting, compared to competition clay sports.

With skeet shooting doubles and down the line follow up shots, I think Adler would be pretty bad. That said, I just shoot for fun. I don't compete, in fact my membership is the el cheapo non-competitive member... So, while I am 100% sure it would put you at a disadvantage during a comp if you need to follow up - it would be heaps fun for just shooting clay for fun. I will confirm or debunk this when it arrives
