First Shotty Advice.

Ello all,

I have a noob question for my first shotty to learn on. I'm planning on learning to shoot Clays. I found these two Guns at my Local gun shop and wanted advice.

ESCORT
CLASSIC SPORTER
12 GAUGE, 30" BARRELS
5 CHOKES, EXTRACTORS
WALNUT STOCK & FOREND

ESCORT
SPORTER ALL WEATHER
12 GAUGE, 30" BARRELS
EXTRACTORS
SYNTHETIC STOCK & FOREND

Both $550

I know its a loaded question (Pun intended) but i figure these are cheap enough to learn on and then if and when i get good i can invest in something more expensive. I figure if i don't like it that much then $550 isn't a huge loss.

Anyone ever shot these guns or have any thoughts on them. Thanks in advance.

Shotty's are totally different to rifles, i started off at one of these come and try days (highly recommended) and went from there, big blokes tend to prefer big guns, handhold, thickness of fore end wize, and smaller blokes tend to go for smaller guns, but there are some that break the mould, they swing differently depending on weight and length, my best advice is go to a come and try and see what i mean about swing, then go to the shop and get someone who knows what they're looking at to roughly fit you up, stock wise, an i'll fitting shotgun is a serious disadvantage you don't have to spend heaps to get s half decent shotty eaither, my personal choice is beretta

Don't go past the second hand market eaither

Hi Angel.
Austac summed it up beautifully...!!

I got nothing really to add, only too reiterate the points about fit, used ones & trying different ones.
Start with one that fits the best....!!, & look at second hand ones too...!
Go to clubs & try as many different ones as you can...the nice folk in the bunch will let you try their guns once or twice.

Let us know how you go.
Good luck...!!
The man who knows everything, doesnt really know everything...he's just stopped learning...
