Definitely,
It pays to be ultra polite when your pulled up for giving it a blap.
I've been let off the hook 3 times now after being chatted for "hooning" ... unfortunately classic cars with angry v8 engines draw some attention.

Interesting - could it happen though, that in 12 months or what ever, They turn around and say yeah nah - they still look too much like an AR?

The thing with the appearance laws - is a police officer or who ever going to act differently to a person carrying a “Similar” military firearm vs a ? Other firearm? What is the actual point of the appearance laws? I don’t get it.

The new "fix" may look very different, enough for some folk to want a refund, perhaps? Will they get one is the question.

Hmm I'm not a fan of the revised black ops model. Especially the gap between the trigger guard and mag well. The smoothed out section is not too bad.
It's an $800 gun to me and not $1400 now though.
I'm bailing.

I don't think the EXT12 MK2 is the replacement for black ops

So looking at some pictures and videos of the "updated" model, it looks like there is a few different variants floating around or something. Maybe some are old stock that were retrofitted, and some are completely new stock?

For example looking at black and desert storm versions on the barn here (ignore the marine it's the old version):

https://www.thebarn.net.au/categories/Berika/17141

The black variant has a keymod forend, as well as a small section of pic rail on all four sides. Whereas the desert version has an M-lok forend, and only a single pic rail section on the top, and seemingly a completely empty flat bottom section of the forend.

Not that I would need to attach a bunch of accessories to a shotgun, but there would be a significant difference in the way you could attach a flashlight, or a sling point etc... between the two versions.

It's a similar story with other sites/vidoes that have the new model shown as well. Some of them show the m-lok version, and others show the keymod with the extra pic rails.

I know someone with one haven't shot it yet but to be honest the built quality looks and feels pretty good!

The only part I don't like is the removable bolt tip that you cock to eject the rounds seems like it could just snap off.

Put my PTA in for a black one aswell as a few 10 round mags(sorry NSW). Just have to wait for my licence to come so I hope they come together or not long after.

I found this thread searching for info on the Berika Black Ops as I recently took the plunge and made a purchase. I can see that no one has done anything in regard to patterns etc so once I’m able to pick mine up (end of April) I’ll get out and throw some rounds through it to give some perspective on what we’re dealing with. I’m very green with all this shotgun stuff this being my first purchase. Have been shooting a few times with friends using bolt action and over under shotguns for geese, but I wanted something that was fun to shoot more than anything. Also something that I could take out and get a few pigs with if I wanted to from time to time. No doubt I’ll have a myriad of questions once I get this thing and start playing with it so hoping you’re not gonna bash the greeny! In the meantime thanks for having me.

Hi mate, no word from OP but I bought a Frankolin BT3000 12g straight pull and love it. Same basic gun as the Dickinson and Adler straight pulls, just was available here at the time and the others weren't. Hundreds of rounds through it without issue so far.

Any questions give me a yell.
