Waiting for my new shotgun

Post by Blr243 » 21 Sep 2019, 6:09 pm

I have been toying with the idea of a 12 ga for a while. And have decided I can put one to good use. So I have paid deposit and done the pta for an Adler B230T it’s straight pull can be operated form the left or right, comes with three chokes, two detachable 5 shot mags, pic rail up the back so I can mount a thermal if I choose. And comes fitted with ghost ring sights ...aaa buckshot in bulk is relatively cheap at 170 bucks for 250 shells That will get me started and keep me going for a bit. I definitely will take the time to check it’s patterns and choose the right choke before I hunt with it ...hopefully if the pta is fast enough and the shipment arrives on time I will have it for my end of October hunt ,,, it’s been 15 yrs or more since I have hunted with shotguns on cultivation paddocks at night so it’s well and truly time to get the action rolling again There was a cheaper version available at something like 450 bucks but I’m sure the pic rail was on the forend if it had one at all so there’s no point haveing one that does not fully suit your intended use

As long as you didn’t order the Adler BT straight pull, you should be ok.

Tassie. Are you trying to give me a heart attack ? I’m on the edge of my paddocks about 45-60 mins away from starting a good week of pig hunting and I don’t want to die before this action starts

It’s all good mate - going by all the probs, I don’t think they continued with the BT’ Adler straight pulls - the 23’s, 26’s are 69’s are ok as are the levers but geez, I would have thought there would be more news on it - but given trumpets impeachment etc - guess it’s been over shadowed a bit lol.

I’m jealous of what’s coming your way mate - game on!!!!! Enjoy!!!

The feeding , and reliability issues of these Adler things has been going on too long. Tools with the intention of fast follow up shots should not be jamming up .......if I can’t get mine to work I will be moving it on

Okay - it’s been 12 hours and I’m sure you’ve sweated plenty. I thought the no’s and comments would give it away - the 69’s are ok?? The BT’s vs B230T?? I’m completely joking and jealous - I’m sure they will be 100% fine!

CRC wd40. Silicon spray. I don’t know. I’ll do some research thin gun oil maybe . Sometimes these products come in miniature pumps or aerosols. Keeping a small Tin in my pocket might help. Tons of dry black dust in m paddocks

When I did my online pta I had trouble describing the action. Maybe there was a dropdown box saying break, bolt lever pump etc I can’t remember but I do remember haveing trouble telling them what sort of action I was applying for ,,,,,, today I got an email from them saying my application would be rejected unless I specified the action type so I have emailed them to tell them it’s a STRAIGHT PULL so I’m hoping that works. Anyone else heard of this issue?

A straight pull could probably if there an no other options be listed as a bolt action. That is what it is really it just the handle itself is a straight pull. It still rotates and locks up just like a normal bolt action would. Its not like a Rugger 10/22 that is just held forward and in position by a spring that can be sent backwards by blowback or manually.

I wonder if they have a category for the lever release guns such as the speedlines and Savage A22?

I just got a call from them asking is it a straight pull. I said yes. And she said they register them as a bolt action. So she was very pleasant and at the end of the day that can call it what they want

Mid October is likely the earliest realistic estimate, that's what I was told by my store, but I live in Melb so maybe you guys might get it sooner?
