Lever action barrel and extension separation

Post by CAVEMAN » 03 Jan 2020, 1:27 pm

Afternoon

Has anyone ever had a problem with there barrel and the bit attached to it that interacts with the receiver and bolt become loose or separate?

The gun is a Pardus LAX12 and I picked it up the other day and noticed a wobble in the barrel. Then on disassembly for cleaning I realized the extension part that threads to the barrel has come loose.

Now the problem I have now is when I place it back on, the extractor cuts on the barrel and extension misaligned by about 2-3 mm to achieve a firm lockup. I will chase it under warranty but more seeing if anyone else has had a similar experience. It's mainly had 00 buckshot through it probably a tad over 200 but I'd hate to see that rattle a gun apart so quick.

I have no experience with Pardus so please don't read anything into my reply but is it normal to disassemble the barrel from the extension for cleaning? Have you removed the extension before or was this the first time? Could a shim have gone missing? I'm guessing the sight bead would be canted to one side as well.
