The Turkish debate

Double barrel, side by side, over-under, semi-automatic, straight-pull and lever action shotguns.

The Turkish debate

I have seen the Turkish guns around, and I think now it's time I brought one for a loaner at the club. I'm just curious to know if anyone has had any experience with them?

The main two that I'm looking at are the Akkar Churchill trap, and the ATA trap. I know they are both from the same supplier (nioa) and that's about it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks.

Same supplier doesn't mean, NIOA import tonnes of brands of varying quality.

Akkar are starting to get quite popular though.

That Akkar 3 triple barrel shotgun is definitely a head turner.

Clever too.

There are two tube magazines in it so you can either go double capacity, or load two different kinds of shells and swap back and forth between them depending on what you're shooting.

Smart stuff.

The ATA is an almost direct copy of a Beretta design, but after a rush of sales locally, enthusiasm fell away rapidly after reports of ejector failures.

The metal is not up to Beretta standards, and wears fairy quickly.

The local dealer no longer stocks them.

They were popular initially as they were cheap alternatives I guess?
