Hi all!
My wife is the best!
I was cleaning my Beretta 680 on the weekend. My wife was hovering around watching me. I pulled out a jag and cleaning rod and some patches and go to work.
My wife picked up the bag of patches and said, "These are really expensive." ---BORE SMITH COTTON PATCHES 12 GA 60 PKT - $18
I think to myself
< I married a smart, caring, beautiful & frugal woman......I am soooooo lucky!.....Please, please, please never let her find any of my gun receipts!!!!!!!> I am putting the receipts in the gun safe right after I finish this post.......
She disappeared and came back a couple minutes later with a handful of small pressed cotton circles. "Try these," she says.
I pop one on a jag and it is a perfect fit thru the bore. They came out dirtier than the ones I bought from a gun shop- which tells me they are working better and removing more residue. They way they are shaped means you can reverse them and use the same one twice.
I say, "These are great! Did you just make them? We should go into business."
She laughs and tells me they are makeup removal pads- and they cost $2 at the reject shop and you get a pack of 160 for that.
I do the mental arithmetic......$18 for 60 is 30 cents each. These are $2 for 160- but you can use them twice so its really 320. That's 6/10 cents each. So they are 50 times cheaper than what I was using. I am going to stock up.....Thought I would share this.....
