MIROKU EXTENDED CHOKE OPTIONS...

Post by Gunner12g » 19 Aug 2020, 2:19 pm

Hi everyone, so im in the market for a good set of extended chokes (invector plus type) to suit my Miroku MK70... Does anyone know where to get them from? Also, will they fit another Miroku shotgun that uses invector plus style chokes..?

Thanks,
Evangelos.

Purchased my extended chokes from Mialls Gun shop 59 Playne St Frankston Victoria, phone number 0397831576.
The chokes are Briley invector plus silver and can only be used in shotguns that use invector plus chokes mainly Browning and Miroku.
I have used them in my Miroku MK70 sporter and would recommend them. Mialls will post the chokes to you and will come in a yellow box. Hope this info is useful.

$75 each.
The price I paid was in 2016 so they may have increased in price.

Highly recommend the Briley titanium extended chokes - in they still make them - much lighter than the normal bailey extended chokes.
Will fit any Miroku or browning with the investor plus barrels.

Depends on the type of clay shooting.....

Skeet and Skeet (or Cylinder/Improved cylinder) Bottom and top for Skeet,

Modified and improved modified for Down the Line.

Cylinder, Improved cylinder, modified, improved modified , and full for sporting clays or 5 stand. It is best to get extended chokes for this as you don't need a choke tool for quick changes between stations in sporting.

Jarhead

Briley chokes have been on the market for many years with Mialls gun shop being the sole importer and installer. They have an extensive range and are very good quality. I had my old Beretta 682 X Trap fitted with Briley thin wall chokes over 20 years ago and have never had an issue. Although the staff at Mialls can be arrogant at times and John Miall himself a little gruff they are probably the most knowledgeable shop in the country for all things clay target related they also have a very large workshop that specialises in shotguns.
You won't go wrong with Briley chokes but a full set of extended chokes including 2x cylinder, 1x 1/4, 1x 1/2, 1x 3/4 and 1 full will set you back at least $700 and way more in titanium. Briley have 9 different constrictions so talk to the staff at Mialls and they will help you pick the best choke for your needs. There is also Carlsons chokes that you can buy at some shops or through Brownells for about $70 each. They have also been around for many years but I have not used them or have any experience with them.

Thank you Jarhead and Mattraff for the insightful comments, I tried Mialls and I never heard back from them... So I guess I will gelive them another try. I have only just started in the clay target scene, and im shooting DTL until I can be competent enough to more than likely move onto skeet..

How did you contact them? Email or phone, seems very strange perhaps Covid-19 may be a problem for them.

Miall's fixed a choke installation by another shop that went wrong. Top notch work and great communication throughout the process. Extended tubes were not an option on my gun but I'm completely happy with the end result. Briley tubes are not cheap but I'm a believer in "you get what you pay for". Quality costs money.

I have extended Carlsons in my Miroku 4800 Grade IV trap gun.
Bought them direct out of the US, some years back now. And I have to say, they're fantastic chokes; extremely well made and finished.
