What category ?

Double barrel, side by side, over-under, semi-automatic, straight-pull and lever action shotguns.

What category ?

LOL,,,

I quote the following.

"Shotguns - 12gauge, 28 gauge, 410 bore etc.
Double Barrel, Side by Side, Over-Under, Semi Automatic,
Straight Pull, and Lever Action Shotguns."

So what category does the Akkar 3 come under ????

category D( for dumb). Probably, imo, one of the most ugly and impractical shotguns around. Not knocking those who bought and use one mind you.

You are all way too serious.
I wasn't referring to category as in legislation eg: Cat A or Cat B

What I was pertaining to is the quoted description by/from the forum itself.
It covers all manner of shotties,,,,, except the poor old Akkar 3

Side by Over-Side shottie, no probs but I think it looks OK, but one wonders what Bugman thinks of the 4 barrel Lancaster?

I knew you were a good bloke. Bloody Ian over at Forgotten Weapons is my favourite evening show. He gets his hands on some amazing things, the Lancaster included.

As for the Akkar...

The Akkar works best in the 20" variant. The 28, 30 and 32" - aptly called the 'Mammoth' - are fenceposts IMO. I love mine in 20", it feels weighty (perhaps 'dense' is the right word?) but is actually quite decent to use. The mechanical cycling system is reliable and the whole thing just works as intended. Can't complain, and it's both something interesting and something that works with our laws so that's nice.

The good old Akkar 3 is simply an Under and Over and Side by Side in one! Or is it a Side by Side and Under and Over?

I'm pretty sure it belongs in the
"New technology, game changing, high capacity, high powered, rapid fire, loophole jumping category.

Definitely category "H" - for Hideous. It truly is the Devil's spawn in the form of a shotgun. 3 is half of 6 and 666 is the number of the beast. Hence, no right minded human should dabble in the dark arts by even looking at such an abomination!

Not real pretty, but I can see the attraction. Who wouldn't like an extra bang?
