Dickinson t1000 light rail?

Double barrel, side by side, over-under, semi-automatic, straight-pull and lever action shotguns.

Dickinson t1000 light rail?

Post by Ronan » 11 May 2021, 9:08 am

I own a Dickinson t1000 tactical, would it be possible in some way to put some type of rail somewhere on the shotgun for a light? I'm starting to think I might have to dolly something up because it doesn't seem like there is enough room between the magazine and the barrel for a clamp. I'm not sure how a rail screwed into the plastic fore-end will do, it doesn't seem to be the thickest, most sturdy platform. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I use a laser on mine when testing .45 Colt in the 20" barrel. I'll get a photo when I'm up the office in a little while.

That won't fit on the T1000 as the mag tube is concealed behind the forend.

I just use a pic adapter to mount a laser for testing pistol ammo in it.

If I were going to use the mount for full-noise 12ga. loads I'd use a smaller laser, like this - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/154376652443

Never tried one, but I've heard the magnetic barrel mounts work very well.

Lasers and lights are not great against moving targets.

saw this via search as I'm interested in mounting light on one.
would you be able to mount something on the mag tube of a 6 shot model? what's the diameter of the mag tube?

Also, no sling attachments on the Dickinson?

Just saw a picture of a dickinson T1000 tactical that has a pic rail under the mag tube. is that somehow integrally molded like the one on the Adler B220AW?

Wonder if that mag tube cover with pic rail is available seperately?

That is the model I have , here's a pic so you can find another pic online and judge whether the same length as far as I know you can still buy parts for them I can't see why not as they are only plastic .
Just be aware that they have changed their name it is no longer Dickinson arms it is Templeton Arms™ this may help in your search for parts.

could a conventional piece of pic rail be mounted to the mag tube shroud? would there be enough clearance inside for a countersunk bolt head if it was countersunk? you could drill and tap a piece of pic rail and mount it with counter sunk screws from the inside. IF you can remove that shroud and drill completely through it to make the countersunk hole on the inside and allow screwdriver/allen key access.

Just realised you did not start this thread just wondering why don't you buy the tactical model or do you already have a T1000 standard

If you're shotgun is the 6 plus 1 magazine capacity and not 5 + 1 you can just buy one of these I was at my dealers today.

Great, I was wondering if that was possible. Only available in that colour I guess? I haven't been able to find any parts info about them.
