Bernalli Shotgun...fix?

Post by edjones90 » 09 Apr 2014, 2:28 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm new on here and hoping someone might be able to help me out... I often shoot with a 1950's Bernadelli shotgun (side-by-side 12ga) that was a gift.

Unfortunately, recently the butt/stock has popped out from where it should fit snug against the metal body above the trigger mechanism.

Is it a nightmare to undo a few screws and try to put it back together...or would I be stupid not to hand it over to a gunsmith?

Here's a link to a couple of pics: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/chexso0sfecllqr/vkbhSjoEgr

Any help/advice would be great!

Cheers

Not having a go or anything, but when you say is it a nightmare are you asking if it's just a pain or because you not confident doing it?

If it's the latter I'd take it to your local gunsmith.

Too fine a shotgun to muck it up yourself.

Thanks guys, by 'nightmare' I mean that I've only pulled apart more modern firearms and aren't overly confident.

Gunsmith it is.

I'd take it to a smith too.

If it's just suddenly popped out without explanation you may have threaded a screw etc. Something that will need a replacement part and not just be a matter of tightening it.
