In regards to single barrel shotguns, are Boito and Stoeger the same?
Or is one better than the other?
Or what other choices are there for a decent knock about single barrel 12 ga?

E.R. Amantino (also known as Boito) is a Brazilian firearms manufacturer founded in 1955 at the city of Veranópolis, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The company is well known for its double barrelled shotguns marketed and distributed in the United States under the Stoeger brand.

Stoeger Industries' headquarters are in Accokeek, Maryland, United States. Stoeger is a wholly owned subsidiary of Benelli, which in turn is owned by Italian firearms manufacturer Beretta.

From what I've seen both are a decent bit of gear, I plan on getting the double defence 12g at some stage, looks like a fun bit of kit

Same. Built in Brazil.
They are nice. Best around. Chunky forend is so much better than some of the slithers of timber the older guns have.
And some of the second hand coach guns getting around are pretty dam old. Be aware steel shot compatible. 3” shells.
Some of the stoeger/boitos come with plastic stocks. You seriously dont want that. They are already a mule with timber.
( you dont want that one SOKAR, no ejectors. Over unders without ejectors are s**t. Besides its gay.)
Coach gun with extractors not ejectors works great however, you just naturally tip the shells out.
The one to look for is the stoeger with the single gold trigger and decent timber stock. The top of their range.

External hammers have no benefit, unless you have a fetish for them, get yourself a matching raccoon tail hat etc.
Did mad max have hammers on his. No he did’nt did he. And neither should you.

All that said they are by no means “fine” guns. They are work horses.
But compared to what’s avail in our market. Some of the old crap that came out of Italy is pretty s**t.
The baikals are ok but getting on.

Your next question is “how do i put a sling on this sling ??
Short answer is it dose’nt need one, dont be such a girl.

It does’nt need anything. It dose’nt need lazers and torches and pic rails and red dots and crap. It cannot be improved on.
It’s simple and it works. And its a beautiful thing.

Should do. Most single barrels are ejectors

Boito/Stoeger are extractor, Rossi model 023 has an ejector. The Stoeger has removable choke.

My choice would be to keep an eye out for a second hand Winchester Model 37A

My stoeger coach gun is extractors but fixed chokes. First barrel is tighter pattern, not sure what but both barrels can manage slugs.
Assuming you enjoy detached retinas.
They’re not that heavy. You really dont want a light weight 12 gauge.

The 37A is at the top of my list actually. They definitely come up for sale here and there, just hard to find one in decent condition.

Yeah its hard, but they come around. Another choice could be this fine looking GP Greener if you want to spend this much.

These are great too > https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/164187940527?epid=2165730718&hash=item263a5d26af:g:uosAAOSwHnFfA2gJ

They have a belt paddle loop thing, not uncomfortable. I have a few of them with different loads. Great product, good price.
