Brasso polish in the tumbler the way to go?

Post by zzoldtown » 17 Jul 2022, 11:11 pm

Hi All,

Someone told me that I should use a little brasso polish or something similar in my tumbler.

Does that sound like the way to go?

Thanks.

I have always used a bit of nufinish and have had no issues with the corn cob media.

Don't use brasso as it contains ammonia and that's bad for the brass as it hardens it .
Stainless steel pins are the way to go . If the cases are only slightly tarnished rinse them in a solution of warm water ( not hot ) and CLR 1 cup CLR to 1 litre of warm water . Then rinse them off in hotter water and dry them out with a hair drier . Tumbler and Ultrasonic cleaning additives should be mild acids not alkaline substances .
