Adler A110 feels like grinding metal on metal

Hi all,

Bought an A110 three months ago and it has worked really well. However, I’ve fired about 350 number 7 target rounds now and the lever has started to feel like grinding metal on metal, where it was relatively smooth before.

I’ve been lubricating the bolt with tikka 3 in 1 oil, but I can’t dismantle it to clean it properly, other than to blow it out with compressed air.

Has anyone had a similar experience, before I attempt to warranty return it.

The bolt and lever removal is fairly simple on the A110, see this video for details:

It really is simple to do but if you're not confident take it back to the gun store and they should be able to do it for you under warranty.

If you have grating then there's almost certainly metal particles in the action so a breakdown and clean is the only way to go. If you find roughened metal on the moving parts use 1200 or finer carbide paper with oil and polish it back to smooth.

Finally, 3-in-1 oil is too thin for this type of lubrication, even G96 gun oil is a little on the tin side for sliding metal you could go for heavier oil or even light grease.

I'm not sure mine is the same construction as the one in the video. Mine seems to be put together with riveted pins, rather than screw pins.

I think i might head back to the shop at any rate.

Problem found.

Worked out how to punch out the trigger housing pins.

The screw attaching the lever arm to the bolt carrier had sheared, and was only staying in place due to the fact that the components around it were holding it captive. Will return, and hopefully have it repaired under warranty.
