HI guys Does anyone know anything about a Chester UK gunmaker called Henery MONK I have recently bought a fine example of his work Its 30 inch barrels SXS Nitro proof Boxlock But NO greener style crossbolt and it has a tang safety its Birmingham proofed Looks like mid 20 sie 1925 or therabouts It was sold cased . Its in usable condition Does anyone have any info on this maker Regarsd to all XKKAT

Henry (No 2nd E) Monk, 8 Queen St Chester, established 1863, closed 2022 having moved from Queen St to a lane just off it around 2015. Made, as well as retailed Birmingham Trade guns and ammunition, Can't help more as my copy of Diggory's "British Boxlocks" is out on loan. You could search Doublegun forum for more

Hi Guys Just an update on the Henry MONK Gun i bought sight unseen WOW Cant believe it!! Its near in mint condition 30 inch barrels shiney It s an ejector SXS and sets the safety on opening Theres no wear on the checkering and its heavily engraved Looking further both barrels are choked It was sold cased The case is a bit tatty but will recover Birmingham proofed and made after 1925 but before 1954 Cant believe my luck what a find!! regards XKKAT
