How much will a shop give me for my Adler

Post by jovialjosie2002 » 16 Nov 2023, 3:41 pm

Hi,
I have a question for the brains trust.
I have an Adler straight pull, 20 inch barrel, all weather version. I am happy with its performance, however, I need some room in the safe.
It's fired about 500 rounds. Hence, it's slightly worn.
How much will a shop pay me for it. I won't be purchasing another rifle/shotgun (no room in safe)
I know these people need to make a living, however, if the price is, say $25, why bother. Especially, since the last time this happened to me, the shop gave me zero, told me it was scrap. I was doing a "like for like" (apparently can only do that in qld). The shop then sold my used gun for $350.

As a rule of thumb they will offer you about a 1/4 of what you could sell it for on Used Guns ect.

I don’t want to get into an argument with deye because he can be grumpy.
But I think 200 bucks from a gun shop is extremely unlikely . They’d have to be in a really good mood on the day and they never are.
They can’t give those things away.
You could have them sell it for you but it won’t move in a hurry.
or work out so with a friend who wants it and get them to do the transfer.
Just going to have to cut your losses.
I dream of a world where chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned

Sad to say but I reckon under $100
When you consider the new price from Cleavers etc and the gun shop that buys it will wanna make a profit

If your safe is full than buy another one. You can have 30 a,b,c,d, or 30 h firearms in Queensland(so essentially 60) until you need other storage arrangements(vaults, rooms etc).

A used adler is worth next to nothing seeing as a new one is worth about $600 and the market is flooded with Turkish shotguns. You would be better off keeping it or like for like it if you want something else in the future.

Keeping some cheap crappy guns on hand to use for a like for like is a good idea if you want to walk in walk out of a shop with a new gun.

A new PTA is worth $44.47(at this point in time) so if you only get $50 from the shop you would only be $5.53 ahead (not including the cost of a new shotgun).
