Thought these were pretty cool :)

The CMC-M1 straight pull shotgun.

The CMC-M1 (C-MORE Competition) shotgun represents a giant leap forward in shotgun technology with its unique straight-pull action. The use of modern lightweight materials ensure lively handling that will quickly get you on target first time every time. The large bolt handle is located close to the rear enabling effortless cycling for users of all sizes. Additionally the bolt handle can be mounted on either side of the firearm making it truly ambidextrous. The energy absorbing one-piece synthetic stock and pistol grip has been carefully proportioned to suit the demands of a multitude of competitive shotgun disciplines. The CMC-M1 shotgun comes with a standard three shot magazine; five shot magazines are optional.

  • Caliber: 12ga
  • Operation: Straight-Pull Bolt Action
  • Capacity: 3 or 5 Round Detachable Magazine
  • Chamber: 2-3/4" or 3"
  • Barrel Length: 18"
  • Overall Length: 40"
  • Weight: 6.2 Lbs.
  • L.O.P.: 14-3/8"

The pictures are pretty small :( Would love to have a go on one IRL though to really see.

" Giant leap forward in shotgun technology " , Ah no ! . When you do enough shotgun shooting you learn that it's all about the fit and swing and point ability of the gun.
This type of gun will handle like a bag of sh*t compared to a nice Beretta or similar traditional shotgun.

A giant leap that savage used in 1949. One just showed up in the shop a couple months ago that a guy needed us I get in working order.

Savage 124. It's really odd to use but after you use it a couple times it gets a little more natural. I think it didn't catch on because they weren't really well made and the early synthetics they were using on the stocks kinda sucked.

The Warwick straight pull rifles have been categories B in a few states now.

Shotties should be possible. I say should....

Perhaps in the states.

As Sha mentions the appeal here is that we can't have pump action shotties as regular shooters. They're only allowed for primary production/farming.

Straight pull is about the closest thing we can get at the moment.

Sure as hell no one is going to mistake you for a deer in the bush though.

Probably as good as a safety flare if you got lost

I'd suggest a straight pull shotgun would be in the same class as a pump action shotgun and therefor prohibited here for "recreational" shooters.

If you jump through the hoops to get licenced for a primary producers permit surely you go straight to a 5 shot semi auto, why would you even bother with a clunky, noisey straight pull or pump action shorty?

I know a bloke that chose a pump shotgun over a semi auto one because he felt the safety aspects of it were worth it, he said he dosnt like the idea of a shotgun that is reloaded straight away after a single shot, if he only took the one shot he was left with a loaded gun to deal with before he could move on.
