No. Never, and I never plan to shoot it. Not even with BP.
It only lives in the Cabinet for sentimental reasons.

bentaz wrote:Fair enough, this one had been getting used with modern ammo for rabbits until recently when the owner had it pointed out to him that he was risking his life, so should be fine with BP, but i will be putting the first bunch of rounds through it with the use of a long string.

Big sook! Lol Load some shells and shoot it! We have a club member that uses a single barrel front stuffer 12g that was built in 1847! Try a light load first. 50-55 gns (by volume) 2f or 3f, milk carton over powder wad, fat soaked felt wad to required height another milk carton wad and the powder scoop filled with shot and a thick cardboard wad over shot wad (cut from lever arch folders).
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

So there I was happily wandering around the Shepparton Arms and Militaria fair when I spied this unusual gem buried under a pile of "pre loved" hardware...
It's a REMO "Popular" bolt action,2 shot 12 gauge.
I'd never seen one before and I'll bet most of you haven't either!
There's not much on the net about them but they were made from 1923 - 1930ish in Germany. It's Mauser design is clear and in fact its predecessor called the "GEHA" was made from G 98 actions and stocks.
I haven't shot it yet but will this weekend. I had to make a new extractor hook which you can see in the pic. It shoulders and points very nicely but at only 2.8kg I anticipate recoil will be "character building"!

Wow, that's awesome Noisy.. I've never seen one before either, I like it... :D Yes recoil will be a bit more than a push wit this one mate ;)

Any more pics of the extractor you made ?

That's diff Noisy, I use a SB Boito that is light and recoil seems fine to me, I put a piece of an old Mouse Pad on it as it didn't have a recoil pad (just had a hard plastic version) it made a little difference I guess but recoil doesn't seem to worry me too much at all (I've shot a heap of clays with that shotty and didn't find it an issue (bruise the next day of course) but at the time it was fine.

Sorry, most of my scatterguns are not allowed down under.
I've been asked: "How many guns do you need to have?" My answer remains the same: "One more."

At the moment i've only been able to get these 32 gram 2 3/4 RC Evoloution i think there italian but if i held my end of the deal i could get them touching holes or close to shooting off hand at about 25 metres

What do you mean you cut the guts out? Did it have a plastic choke lol? Thats sounds good though would be keen to know how it shoots, i also picked up some 3 inch magnum buck shot, i was promised some recoil, and recoil i did receive haha probably on par with some of your special stuff
