Beretta shotguns

Post by AusTac » 29 Sep 2015, 7:35 pm

Hey fellas,

Looking to get my first shotgun for clays, i've used a few friends various models of beretta's, i'm pretty keen on a used or even new 686 silver pigeon but also like the old world feel of the 682, as i understand it though the 682 is fixed chokes where as the 686 can be interchanged? Does anyone have any experience with either or even another similar model?

Wanted to get some experiences before i drop what i consider to be serious coin

Cheers

We recently purchased two Silver Pigeon Classics, and while they are a lovely gun, you need to get it fitted properly for you!.

You won't be sorry :-)

The 682 is an older model, I believe its still available though.....initially fixed chokes (80's intro??) but would be interchangeable later to current....

It can be a serious wad of cash for a new example; the new 692 are $4000odd, I would only drop that if I was very serious into my shotgunning.... or just had seriously spare coin..

These shotguns ARE worth the money, they've been producing these masterful guns for almost 500 years; they DO know what theyre doing!

I have an old over under, had more than a few rounds through it, never misses a beat.... beautiful to use and to look at.... compare to the cheapies - I picked up a couple of Boito 20inch sovrapposti..... one died after a short fast and furious session. You really get what you pay for!! (Was fun while it lasted though)

Moral of the story; cant go wrong with a Beretta, new or used

I paid $7200 for my ( limited edition ) 682 Sporter.

It was my first shotgun, with so many others in between ! ( Lol )

Am now professing to all and sundry, the 682 is my 'go to gun'. !

Seriously ...

The Beretta 682 is a helluva gun.

Even the original 'silver action' guns are well worth the current money. ( $2500 ? )

You're correct; 'Nice' is not doing these babies justice...
2.5k or a lot more is indeed highly justifiable on these guns..... I'm almost in love with a parallelo, and the sticker price is just unmentionable

How do you find your 682 Mr Winchester? I assume you love it as most beretta owner, seriously considering a 682 super sport on ozgunsales at the moment

Well I had the beretta 682 gold E x trap and loved it and won some good coin at qld state one year and
Some annual clay shoots but it has to fit you, don't change your self to fit the gun make the gun to fit you. I put a good 20 000 rounds through the 682 in a year and a half and I think the only thing that went wrong was the front bead fell off which beretta replaced for free at the state shoot like they always do "forever serviceing" great guns I now have moved to the ASE 90 which is another beautiful gun hand made in the 90's along side the SO guns although it cost me 9k I will have this gun till it falls to peices and so far I think it will out live my time, all berettas are great guns just make sure a stock maker fits it to you and you have no one to blame when you drop targets because we will always blame the gun lol.

Get a beretta, no regrets here

Haha if it goes to a fellow forum member i won't be to upset, if i can't find a nice/reasonably priced 682 i might go a new 686 sp1 as beretta apparently offers free fitting and serciving which would be real handy

I'm a keen shotgunner and a bit of a collector.

I own far too many guns.

...... The 682 Sporter is my favourite gun to shoot !

P.S. I liked the 682 Sporter so much - I pounced on a 'matching' 682 Limited Edition Trap, when I stumbled across it looking very lonely in a shop. :D

More seriously, at the Perth ShotExpo a while back I saw a Beretta shotgun for over $15k. Is it worth ten times the price of a $1,500 shotgun? Is it worth fifteen times the price of a thousand bucks shotty? If I think of what I could buy with the $14k I'd save, my mind is boggling...

You could buy 14 more shotguns!

Nah, I'd save it up for something more important.

http://guns.gearsuite.com/l/845/Beretta ... o-12-gauge

130 grand for this lil' puppy.

From the above link: "Beretta suggests a retail price of $130,000, making it one of the most expensive shotguns on the market."

One of? Meaning there are shotties going for more?

On that topic, Mrs Pete just gave me the "No Friggin Way, Mister" look when I mentioned it to her. I think I'll stick with the Stoeger for now.

It's worth it if it's the one you want.

Worst thing you can do is go cheaper to save a few bucks and regret your decision.
