Akkar 3 Barrel Select Fire model coming this year!

So I emailed Akkar out of interest regarding whether or not they would be releasing a model with select fire (for the tripple barrel they make), which was one of the big gripes of the current one.
To my surprise they said they had plans on releasing one by the end of this year. To me that is pretty exciting and I thought I might let people know!

I wonder if they've considered doing one with 2 smooth bore and one rifled barrel ?

What would that do? Not really that familiar with shotguns with rifled barrels

look up "drillings rifle" i think it was/is popular with big game and dangerous game hunters as the rifled barrel is usually chambered in a dangerous game caliber

I'm not sure if one wheel was referring to a combination gun, or having one 12ga barrel rifled for slugs.

Drilling's are not at all popular as D.G weapons. They are far to cumbersome to get into action in a hurry. Lots have been made on 9.3 x 74, .375 H&H .404 and the like, but they just dont cut it when the chips are down.
The most popular I have come across are chambered in .308, 30.06 or the smaller calibers on 20g barrels.
Not saying that they dont get used, but anyone who faces a charge once with one of them, switches to something else almost immediately. Also, as you only have 1 shot, its not close to ideal.

I'd like to have one rifled barrel so I can send solid slugs down range with fantastic accuracy, it would give you a range of around 100 meters or perhaps a bit more on larger game.
They also gife different patterning with shot.

It basically got canned in the end because of that didn't it?

The duck hunters were keen on it with with the triple barrel it ended up not being Cat B and is Cat C as it's a sort-of semi-auto so they couldn't have one in the end. Something like that?

Nah they still make then I just put one on lay buy from magnum sports for $1299 which I thought was a ripper price. Dunno about select barrel fire though I'll have to talk to them and see if they still have it in the making.
