Black Moon Alpha 5 Straight Pull Shotun

Post by rsj223 » 10 Nov 2017, 8:23 am

After looking at all on offer with leaver and straight pull I knew I wanted a straight pull, first choice would have been the Pardus with the box magazine but at about $180 for a spare mag and still some issues of jamming I gave it a miss, next was the SHS and this has many of the same parts as Pardus,Alpha and Adler the thing I did not like was the bolt in the SHS I think the head turned or something like that (I cant remember).
Had it for about 4 weeks now and only got a chance on cup day to give it a go.
Never used one before so nothing to compare it to but loved it only hiccup is its tight to eject Winchester ammo, will add all the ammo used later.
Can post up any picture but for now hear is black moons vid

I always liked the look of the berika, but haven't heard any more about it, plus dunno how spring assist straight pulls go in WA with our draconian leaders at WAPOL

Just looking at that I feel like the words "military appearance" and waiting to jump out.

Not another loophole jumping, almost semi-auto, rapid fire, high powered, high capacity deadly lethal, military appearance shotgun.

Looks nice.

Anyone know the specs of this firearm (capacity, weight etc.) and country of manufacture (if recent trends are anything to go by, I'm assuming this is Turkish?) And in regards to straight pull shotties in WA, they're 100% legal, so you shouldn't have an issue getting this over there.

As far as I know they are Turkish and use many parts that are the same as Adler, Pardus and SHS.
It holds 4 70mm/23/4 shells in the mag (tube) missing out on the fifth by about 20mm
I will get to the weight soon but light enough to hold in right hand up at the shoulder and cycle with left

That can simply be a matter of different tolerances by brand.

Only needs to be that last thou bigger to stick.

How "hard" to eject are we saying? A little firm but not really a bother, or more like jamming?

My 12yo could not pull the leaver back, I would say more to the jamming side

Wouldn't hurt to work out where it is jamming.

You could colour in the case with a permanent marker and put a mark on the headstamp to show which was is 'up' and insert the cartridge with that mark pointing up.

Cycle it to jam, then extract the cartridge and see where the case is sticking from where the marker has been rubbed off. Then you'll know where to start looking specifically.

Will be going over them tonight as the supplier said one other had a small bur and another came good after 20 or so rounds, I guess it the price you pay.

How has this held up over time? On paper it looks the goods, though can't find any review on it, just a few posts on FB & Used Guns.
