Length of Pull

Post by Stoney » 27 May 2018, 4:10 pm

G'day All, I have a question for the knowledgeable shotgun gurus please. I have just purchased a new shotgun that unfortunately is too short for me in the stock LOP ( they ALL are ). I already knew it would be so because I have Praying Mantis arms and my LOP is 16 inches plus. Unfortunately someone of my dimensions simply cannot buy a shotgun off the rack with a stock that fits. What are my options for a minimum 2 to 2.5 inch extension that looks reasonable and not a backyard job?

You could look at putting a bit of the ebony at the back like the fore stock of a rifle. What ever you do its going to look a bit different than the norm. Matching the finish is going to be the hardest thing. If you want it to look like it was made with the gun you may have to take the original finish off first and then re finish.
