If you find a batch the gun likes go back and buy everything the shop has with that batch number.

Could not get the Hornady 17gr for a while. So was using Winchester 17gr which was meant to be the same. 5 or 6 neck splits per box and accuracy a bit questionable.

I bought some more Hornady now that it back in stock. It will shoot a group but seems to have the odd flyer. I've bought some CCi 20gr game points to try. I haven't tried 20gr bullets before

Has anyone tried the new CCI A17? They only had 200 round boxes and they were wanting $129. Getting a little expensive for rimfire stuff particularly if it doesn't shoot that good.

I was getting Winchester for $19 for 50
If I buy Hornady in bulk can get for $20 for 50 but it does not seem to shoot as well as earlier batches??

I found that the hornady 17g shot really well in my marlin however i would probably get 5-7 split cases per 50. The Winchester stuff was even worse so much so id never buy it again. I tried a box of the A17 and i am now a giant fan of the stuff accurate and ive shot probably 150 rounds and yet to see a split case. Bear in mind this was after i bought 500 rounds of the hornady 17g

I saw the .17 HMR round in Bunbury when it first landed here and ordered the Ruger lever rifle instantly. On the dairy farm I lived on the ducks were a real problem,we had more ducks than cows and they fly into the pond where we hose the yards out and then fly into our fresh water dam and dump all the poop into it.they eat all the grain that is put out for the calfes so the farmer liked me to get as many as possible.I found if I aimed at where the neck starts to taper into the body they dropped like it was a fairground and the breast meat was intact but all the main organs were gone.It was a ripper of a calibre and should realy be considered high power but it is only a rimfire. The chaps at the gun range found it most interesting
