What benefits the 35W would have would be from keeping it's modest velocity up with a longer barrel... in my eyes 24" is a good length for 30-06 cartridges. 26 for the larger case 300's.
But the yanks certainly are going ape for short barrels now, I hope they remember how their favourite cartridges from history are completely changed and are certain do not have the same performance, hope that's not what they expect.
But then as I have found, too much velocity makes it's own problems with the projectiles available too.
But that Ruger, especially as one of their "economy" line, is a beautiful looker. I especially like the longer-than-normal sleek pistol grip, perfect for fast pointing hunting.
I wonder how the timber and metal finish compares to their higher-spec Africans.
