Well, you're already points ahead on looks alone - mine is just blued with the Hogue black rubber stock - on the plus side, it may look similar enough to my 223 that its presence in the safe will continue to go unnoticed.

mate , i bin looking for a compact ute/scrub gun with the same feel /handiness of a 30-30 winchester 94, but easily scoped and a bit better firepower and ballistics than a 30-30. these carbine "scout rifles " seem to fit the bill. i did a post on mine, but put it under the wrong heading. it's under "new ruger american 22wmr " , or something like that :thumbsup:

try the 130 gr federal "eagle" hollow points. recoil is mild and they seem pretty accurate. then again, most hollow points are :thumbsup:
