Being left handed the plain stock is great and just waiting on a scope to try the 788 out....

i wonder why the change in stock design as mine was 1978 manufacture.

Inability to stabilise heavier projectiles with its slower twist rate is what killed 6mm Rem. Not that there’s enough room in the mag or throat to deal with extra long pills.
788 is not to be sneezed at....they’re just plain.

Any Remington rifle stamped 6mm Remington has a 1 in 9 twist
It was the .244 Remington with the slower twist.
