Anyone tried Nosler Accubond Long Range yet?

Post by salate » 18 Feb 2014, 1:21 pm

G'day,

My local is starting to stock the Accubond Long Range bullets now and I'm thinking about giving them a go.

Looking to start reaching out further for my own skill and fun, not shooting competitively, but interested to try new things.

Anyone used them yet? How do they perform over various distances in your experience?

My LGS has had the same 1 box of 7mm Long Ranges for a month or two now.

I asked about some other calibres and they said they haven't ordered any because they haven't sold any.... Er, What...

How you gunna sell them if you don't have them

The one objection I've heard for them is slipping straight through without expanding when hitting targets at range.

They seem to want that extra velocity to mushroom properly.

A bit pointless though using these then having to shoot inside a few hundred metres for proper bullet expansion. You'd be just as well of shooting any other hunting bullet for half the price doing that...

Thanks guys.

I missed my opportunity to buy as my LGS got them in but sold out before I got back there.

Going to give them a go though, fingers crossed they work out.

Post back if you get the chance (if you would...)

I'm keen to give them a while, would like to know your results.
