Same groups swapping between Accubonds and Ballistic tips

Post by Lorgar » 20 Feb 2014, 11:15 am

Just sharing for any fellow reloaders using Nosler bullets.

Following a few recent topics on swapping bullets with same loads and that kind of thing, hopefully this is useful for a few people.

I've recently started reloading for my 7mm-08 and have just done a side by side with 140gr Ballistic Tips and 140gr Accubonds.

Same group, same point of impact, same same with these two for me...

The Accubonds are good bullets but they're not cheap. Not the kind of thin you want to waste at the range or varminting.

Can't speak for every calibre but they've proven to be interchangeable in my 7mm-08 so I have the cheaper BT's for pests and paper, and can drop in the Accubonds when out for bigger game without having to resight.

Something to try for anyone who's interested anyway.

Lucky you. I'm going to test tomorrow to see how much POI variance there is between my target and hunting loads in my 308
