no it ain't , but for the money, in terms of accuracy/performance/trigger , very hard to beat from what i've seen . i'd have a sako 75 laminate/stainless if i could afford one but . but my 6.5 model 70 might get jealous ;)

Interesting to what Northdude said- i agree. I recall 30 years ago in the Sporting Shooter mags Fuller Firearms (now Fuller Global which owns OSA amongst other companies!!) was advertising the M96 /M38 Swedish Mauser Sporters with a Synthetic (Ramline) stock, one piece bridge mount and Nikko Stirling Gold Crown 6x40 scope for $450. XMIL ammo was easy to come by but proper sporting (hunting) ammo was more difficult to procure. I bought one of these as one of my first centerfires and it was brilliant !!
Its interesting to see them now advertised on-line (second hand) for around the $400-$500 mark .......30 years later........still a demand for them.

yep i recon its getting close to the universal caliber my original one came with the cut down mil stock its got a ramline now and a timney and better mag scope and as accurate as its mates in the safe its a pitty it was chopped up as it was an obendorf one which i think are the rarer ones

thats hooting along mark
the sweet spot l have found for the 6.5x284 is generally between 2950 and 3050 for 140-142gr bullets
but l cant get the standard sweed up that high
it would be interesting if you could put a bit of info up about the case and the work you put into it :drinks:
