I dont mind spending a bit more as I dont get to shoot that much, but if you're sensing 100 down range a day.. well now...
Hi Aliqua. I'm looking at spending about $50/box 20. Dont mind spending a bit more if I get good groupings with it.
I've used Remington CoreLokt before but found it was rubbish. 2 misfires in a box of 20
Also keen to get some advice on hunting v target ammo. If anyone can shed some light on what the actual difference is I'd greatly appreciate it. The guys at the gun shop tell me they are the same. Cheers.
In general terms - hunting ammo is designed to expand on impact (mushroom) thus cause immediate and fatal damage once in the animal...this can be achieved via various means - hollow points being the easiest to visualise. Some ballistic tip ammo, sees the polymer top driven into the main Projectile body on impact - spreading the encased lead...nosler BT hunting comes to mind.
Target ammo can often pencil straight through an animal, causing an injury - long time suffering, slow bleed out, etc. target ammo - used to be considered a higher quality, as consistency was mandatory, but premium hunting rounds are also now demanding a better product.
For me - The issue becomes when some manufacturers claim their predominantly advertised target ammo can be used for hunting...I don’t want to injure or maim anything.
