Don't forget to take some water jugs as reactive targets!

Out at the range I can only use “official “ ssaa targets. On private property it would be a different matter :D

Not sure the 45-70 would get there. Yes it would go straight through but not sure on the explosive nature of such activity.
My 45-70 loads don't do it. Just get a hole.
No harm in trying! Maybe a rockmelon or watermelon?
Apples are interesting. You get a cloud of apple juice mist.

Yeah, I’ve seen old pictures and newsreel stuff from back when on prickly pear and rabbits. Amazing stuff to see how out of control they were.
I don’t think Rock melons got that bad , and they don’t seem to eat much

Hey fellas, my first handloads gave these results yesterday. 57 grain of 2208 crimped with the 270 Speer

Damn, the site won’t accept my picture. It’s a .4” group at 100 :D
Next node is 58.5 grain and gave .793” , with considerably more thumping

This is why i spend the money on a sako :D

Now I just gotta find some feral critters to point it at

thanks fellas , i'm pleased as punch . it's always a risk buying a second hand rifle , this ones a peach . i had "stoney" over for a visit today . he's on this forum from time to time and has a cz550 in 9.3x62 . he was suitably impressed :D

yeah i'm good to go bill . i'll use the "soft" accurate load for the big game comp at my local club . it has a 100 yard zero with the soft load which is perfect for this comp . it'll help me get practice in for off hand "point and shoot" situations . the "hotter" load prints 2 3/4" higher at 100 with the same scope settings which should be about a 200 yard zero for hunting . i feel the universe has aligned perfectly for me at the moment :D

with a result like this Doc oldbloke would advise me to have a beer this afternoon, for medicinal purposes . so i will

:drinks: :drinks:

Awesome group.

Yeah Bigrich bullet placement and good bullets make or break you.

In those days I could shinny up a tree damn quick. Have had a buff bull charge me from behind - he had backed up into the jungle and charged after I walked past - so first shot better be good when using a 30/06, or anything when it's 20m away and closing.

But eventually in my mature years I bought a .375 H&H, just because I could. I think the 9.3 is an excellent choice
